Morning Meeting

Every morning we sit in a circle and have Morning Meeting.  We start with greeting each other by shaking hands.  We are learning to use our right hand when shaking hands.  This is the reason your first grader is coming home with the letter r stamped on his or her hand.  After greeting the students are able to verbally "share"  with the class.  We do a short activity (a name game or number game) and then we discuss the daily schedule.  The students enjoy talking about exciting events in their lives.  The whole activity only takes about 15 minutes.  I find it is a great way to start the day!
