We started math centers this week. Math centers are a great way for me to work with a small group while the rest of the class is engaged in math activities. This week the children are using computers to practice math skills on ABCya and Sumdog, iPads using Math Bingo app, Monster Squeeze app, and Rush Hour app and a counting activity using play dough. I am taking a small group to assess number writing using shaving cream.
The start of school requires a lot of assessment! Math centers keep things interesting while allowing me to assess the students.
I put a link on the blog for Sumdog. This is a fun website to practice math skills. I am able to choose the skills students will be working on while playing the math games. Each student requires a login and password. I will be sending those home.

I wrote the passwords on the inside of the kids' green take home folders
