Centers

We started a new center this we called Story Map.  The students work as a group to read a story.  Then they discuss who are the characters, what is the setting, problem and solution. The students decide who will answer each part and write the answer on a post it.  After lunch I read the story to the class and we go over the group's answers as a class.  A big part of this activity is working as a group and collaborating.  The boys and girls did really well with this.  I plan to change this center up a little bit to use with non fiction books.  
     Next week we will have Polar Express Day.  Boys and girls need to wear their pajamas to school on THURSDAY DECEMBER 20TH! The children can bring in 1 stuffed animal.
