Busy Week

The first graders have been working hard!  We are starting to talk about digraphs in Fundations (wh, sh, ch, th, ck).  Students will mark these by underlining with a solid line.  ex duck
In math we are starting to work with nickels.  To help your student progress in money counting, please practice counting by 5's to 100 and counting backwards by 5's from 100.  In writing we are working on;

• starting sentences with a capital letter
• ending sentences with .   ?  !
• using finger spaces
• writing 2 sentences.

We do not have school on Friday October 12th for NEOTA Day.
We still will have a spelling test this week, but on Thursday instead of Friday.  Please return your spelling books on Thursday.
